Set the Concordance translation memory

Power Translateā„¢ also comes with a concordance search feature that allows a translator research terms and phases from the Active TM.

In Alchemy Catalyst select the Concordance icon or Ctrl + Alt + Up Arrow to open the Concordance Manager.

On the above screen the user needs to set the Active TM that they wish to use for their Concordance Search by clicking the Settings button.

Note:
In Alchemy Catalyst the user cannot use a text based glossary or a TMX for their Concordance search. Concordance can be used with TTK and Trados TM's only.

Using Concordance in conjunction with the TM

Now that the translation memory is set for the concordance search you can start to use the Catalyst Concordance engine.

After you have entered your concordance search terms select 'Go' and the concordance engine will search for the terms in the Active TM. If the Active TM is a TTK then the results will be displayed in the Concordance pane.

Note:
If there is an ampersand in the search term then this will need to be removed from the search string, before the term can be found in the Active TM using Concordance. For HTML files it is also necessary to remove any tags from the search term, in order to find the string in the Active TM.

If the Active TM is a Trados TM then the Concordance Engine will display the search results in the Trados Concordance pane as shown below.

Note:
If the Active TM is a Trados TM then Concordance can only be used to search for terms in the source strings in the Trados TM.
