Pseudo Translate Expert: Options tab |
It replaces vowel characters with diacritical characters thus ensuring there are no limitations in your code that would prevent a translated version from functioning correctly.
It increases/decreases the length of the segments to verify how your software would behave with longer or shorter text segments
User defined characters are added at the beginning and end of each segment. When using the pseudo-translated software, any text truncations are evident if the beginning or ending characters are not visible.
Substitution Characters: |
Select this option to replace characters in the source text with accented characters. This string represents a comma separated list of character maps. Each map substitutes what is before the hyphen with what comes after. So an E with È for example. The substitution can be single or multiple characters.
Using substitution characters in this way helps identify if the content to be translated will handle characters outside the typical English value range.
See Custom Pseudo Patterns for more detail.

Expansion: |
Select this option to expand each text string by a certain percentage. It is typical to expand shorter strings by a larger percentage. For example, expanding 'OK' to 300% makes it 'OKOKOK'.
Use a percentage less than 100% to contract a string.
Expansion is a beneficial as it will test how ready your content is for the natural expansion that occurs during the translation process. |
Replacement Text: |
Select this option to replace each text string with a replacement string. |
Pre-Text characters: |
Select this option to precede each text string with a defined character sequence. Pre- and post-text characters help to identify any truncations after translation. If the pre and post characters are not visible then truncation has occurred. |
Post-Text characters: |
Select this option to add a defined character sequence to the end of each text string. Pre- and post-text characters help to identify any truncations after translation. If the pre and post characters are not visible then truncation has occurred. |
