GlobalLink Project Director is a translation workflow management application which allows Project Managers to easily submit and distribute source materials for translation, as well as monitor the progress of ongoing translation projects. Project Director also facilitates translators in claiming translation jobs and submitting translated material once complete.

Project Director organises translation jobs into “submissions” which contain the translatable files (for instance a TTK project) as well as configuration settings such as the required language pairs, translation instructions, the translation workflow to use, a translation due date and any TMs (Translation Memories) that may be used. The workflows, projects, TMs and language pairs available to a PM are configured by a Project Director administrator and are not normally managed by a Project Manager or translator.

Project Director is a web service accessed online via your browser. It is installed and configured independently of Alchemy CATALYST by a GlobalLink engineer. A connection between CATALYST is available via the ADD-INS ribbon enabling users to send a TTK project to a Project Director worklfow in order to automate the distribution to translators.
