Using Active Translation Memories |
Only Active Translation Memories can be used to find and display suggested translations in the Translator Toolbar. Several Translation Memories can be active simultaneously and suggested translations from these TMs will be displayed in the reference pane of the Translator Toolbar. To open a Translation Memory and view translations:-
Click on Active TM tab at the bottom of the Translator Toolbar.
Click to add a new Translation Memory to the list of Active Translation Memories. Select the type of TM required from the list on the screen and locate it using the Browse button.
The TM will be opened and the currently highlighted segment will be searched for and displayed in the TM Reference Pane.
Use the following buttons to manage your list of Active Translation Memories.
Add Active TM: Click this button to add a new TM to your Active TM list. |

Remove TM: Click this button to remove a TM from your Active TM list. Alternatively, you can deselect the radio-button adjacent to the TM to temporarily remove it from your Active TM list. |

TM Information: Click this button to find out information about your Alchemy Desktop TM file. |

Refresh TM Cache: Each TM on your Active TM list is cached to improve performance and speed of searches. Click this button to destroy the current cache and rebuild it by re-searching all Active TMs.
NOTE: You should always refresh your cache when switching from one project to another in the Alchemy Project Environment. This ensures that you always get the latest translation suggestion from the Active TM list. |
Click on the TM Information button to see more detailed information about Alchemy Desktop TMs in your Active TM list.
In the example above, the desktop TM file Transmem.tm contains both Japanese and Chinese translations.
