Using glossaries |
Glossaries are used by professional translators to improve the consistency of their work. Alchemy CATALYST works with a wide range of desktop and server based glossary formats such as:-
|
TBX |
|
Tab Delimited Text Files |
|
TBX |
|
SDL MultiTerm iX (Server Based) |
|
Trados MultiTerm |
|
Custom Glossary connectors can be developed using the Alchemy SDK. This enables 3rd party glossary formats to be supported from within the Alchemy Project Environment. |
A glossary file can be attached in the Term Sources tab of the Translator Toolbar or go to POWER TRANSLATE > Attach glossary.
Click to open a new glossary and use it for terminology lookup.
Browse to the path of your glossary file and select it.
Click OK to attach this glossary to Alchemy CATALYST.
You can also select a Glossary using the Translator Toolbar. Click here for more information on this.
An unlimited number of glossary files can be specified using this method, and each time a term is found it will be displayed as a translation suggestion in the reference window of the Translators Toolbar.

To select a SDL TRADOS MultiTerm glossary file or SDL TRADOS MultiTerm iX file, use the SDL TRADOS enterprise button to locate and specify the name of the glossary file. |
