Use the Activate Expert to configure Alchemy CATALYST as a 'stand-alone' or 'network' license. The Activate Expert requests a Product Certificate from Alchemy Software Development. This is used to register your copy of Alchemy CATALYST and to authenticate your license purchase.

Frequently asked questions about Product Installation and Product Activation |
If your installation of Alchemy CATALYST is not activated, it will run in evaluation mode only and you will see the Activate Expert in your Expert toolbar.

In the Project Navigator pane, click on Activate CATALYST 7.0 to launch the Activation Expert. This Product Activation Expert will automatically launch and display the following dialog:-
There are two steps in the Alchemy CATALYST activation process:-
Step 1: Requesting a Product Certificate
Select Step 1 using the mouse to create your installation ID.
An installation ID will be created that uniquely identifies your host computer. If you are upgrading from a previously installed licensed version of Alchemy CATALYST your dongle Hardware device that is attached to your serial port that provides software priacy protection for your installation of Alchemy CATALYST. information will also be gathered during this operation.

If you are upgrading your existing license of Alchemy CATALYST you must ensure that your dongle is attached to your computer’s parallel port. Alchemy CATALYST uses this information in combination with your installation ID to validate your upgrade request and create your Product Certificate. |
Enter your email address in the space provided and select the Click here button to send your installation ID and dongle information to an Alchemy customer service representative.
The installation ID and dongle information will be used to create your unique Product Certificate. This certificate will be mailed to you electronically. This Product Certificate is used to activate your Alchemy CATALYST license.
Step 2: Activating your License using a Product Certificate
Select Step 2 as you already have your Product Certificate and you wish to activate your Alchemy CATALYST license.
Use the Browse button to locate your Product Certificate and select the Click here button to activate your Alchemy CATALYST license.
