Working With The Dialog Editor |
Use the Dialog Editor to localise dialog panels, place and arrange controls, and validate translated products. Alchemy Layout Manager™ is used to automatically layout translated dialog panels. The Dialog Editor supports all UNICODE languages including Bi-di, DBCS and Eastern European language groups.
Using the mouse click on a control in the Dialog Editor or from the Sting list. The contents of the control will be displayed in the Translator Toolbar. Enter your translation here and press OK to confirm your translation and move to the next control on the dialog form.
Use the Shift key while selecting controls with the mouse to create a group of controls

A bounding rectangle is drawn around each control in the group. You can now use the group operation features in the Dialog Toolbar.
Use the Dialog Toolbar to align groups of controls on a dialog form. Controls can be aligned horizontally and/or vertically.

To insert a hotkey in your translation
Click on a control using the mouse and then select Insert Hotkey from the popup menu. This will analysis all the hotkeys on the dialog form and select a unique one for this control.
Use the Dialog Toolbar to run quick validation checks on a single dialog form.

The results of these validation checks are stored in the Results Toolbar.
To jump to the location of an error, click on the blue hyperlink in the Results Toolbar.

To check for inconsistencies in your translations
Use the PowerTranslate Toolbarto automatically check translations for consistency. This check will scan each translation in a dialog form and verify that the translation matches the glossary file.
Any discrepancies will be reported in the Results Toolbar.
To layout a dialog automatically
Use Alchemy Layout Manager to create a localised layout of a translated Dialog form. Alchemy Layout Manager will analysis the original layout of the Dialog form and create a localised layout to suit your translations.
Any errors detected during a Layout pass are displayed in the Results Toolbar.
